Arial view of Magnetawan village with bridge and river..Come and visit us soon!

MAGNETAWAN is a historical village located midpoint on a 78-km stretch of the Trans Canada Trail. Explore ghost towns, turn of the century cemeteries, corduroy roads, and abandoned homesteads along this picturesque roadway. The quiet country roads surrounding Magnetawan are ideal for mountain biking, driving, hiking and horseback riding, and become a blaze of colour during the fleeting days of autumn. An abundance of birds and wildlife can be observed throughout the year. Your bird book and binoculars are a must! Numerous lakes and rivers offer boating, swimming, fishing and just plain relaxing. Pickerel, pike, bass and trout will provide the avid or recreational fisherman hours of enjoyment. Don't forget one of the Near North's largest Spring Smelt runs.

Arguably, the most picturesque area in the heart of the Parry Sound District

Founded over 150 years ago, Magnetawan is the oldest settlement in the Parry Sound District. There is still much to see of our history. Come and discover...........and only 2 1/2 hours north of Toronto
